The Oregon Task Force on Nearshore Research was developed by the state legislature with the passage of House Bill 3106, at the end of the 2007-2009 session. The purpose of the Task Force is to “make recommendations to ensure the protection and utilization of Oregon’s nearshore resources.”
More specifically, the bill charged the Task Force to develop recommendations on a long-term funding and coordination strategy to meet the state’s nearshore research priorities and provide guidance on how the task force will implement the intent of the bill.
The Task Force completed its report titled “Recommended Long-Term Funding and Coordination Strategy for Implementing Nearshore Priorities of Oregon” on July 30, 2010 and, as required by HB 3106, submitted it to the Governor and Emergency Board.

Final Report
The Oregon Task Force on Nearshore Research has completed its recommendations and, as required, has submitted its report to the Governor and the Oregon Emergency Board.
