South Coast Rocky Habitats Workshop
The Oregon Coastal Management Program is hosting a public workshop series to develop site management plans for rocky habitats that were designated in 2023. On July 29th, 2025, the workshop was focused on learning about plans for three protected rocky habitats on the south coast: Coquille Point Marine Garden, Blacklock Point Marine Conservation Area, and Cape Blanco Marine Research Area.
The plans will support communities in Bandon, Sixes, and Port Orford to study and protect vital rocky habitats. Participants discussed implementation actions and strategies for building capacity in communities, Tribes, and government agencies who are working to implement rocky habitat management strategies.
Other meeting materials are available in the right-hand column. See the Rocky Habitat Planning page for more information.
